Do you really offer 24/7 emergency service?
Yes. A technician is on call every night, weekend and holiday of the year for no-heat and no-cool emergencies. When you call after hours you reach a person, not a recording, and we tell you honestly how soon a truck can be at your house.
How much does a furnace repair cost?
It depends entirely on what failed. A flame sensor cleaning or a capacitor is at the low end; a blower motor or control board is more; a heat exchanger usually means talking about replacement. The technician diagnoses first and gives you a written price before any work starts, so you decide with the number in front of you.
How much does a new furnace or air conditioner cost?
The range is wide because the equipment tier, the size of the house, the condition of the ductwork and venting, and whether we are replacing one piece of equipment or two all move the price. We quote after an in-home consultation and a load calculation, in writing and itemized, and the consultation is free.
Do heat pumps work in Minnesota winters?
Cold-climate heat pumps keep heating well below zero. We design most Twin Cities systems as dual-fuel, with the heat pump handling the bulk of the season and your gas furnace taking over on the coldest nights. All-electric designs with backup heat are available for homes without gas. Our heat pump page explains how the design works.
Do you service boilers?
Yes. Many Minneapolis, St. Paul and older Edina homes heat with hot-water boilers and radiators, and we repair, maintain and replace them. We also pair boilers with ductless systems for summer cooling.
What brands do you work on?
All of them. Our technicians are trained across the major furnace, air conditioner and heat pump manufacturers and carry common parts for each. For new installations we offer a few brands we trust and will explain why we recommend one over another for your house.
Do you pull permits?
Every time. Furnace, air conditioner, heat pump, ductless and boiler installations all require a mechanical permit in the cities we serve, and often an electrical permit as well. We file them, schedule the inspection and meet the inspector if needed. A permit protects your warranty, your homeowner’s insurance and the resale of your home.
Are there rebates for new equipment?
Generally, yes. Utilities serving the Twin Cities offer rebates on high-efficiency furnaces, air conditioners and especially cold-climate heat pumps, and federal tax incentives may apply. The programs change year to year, so your comfort advisor will outline exactly what your proposed system qualifies for and handle the paperwork we are able to file.
What warranty do you offer?
Repairs carry a two-year labor warranty. Installations carry a ten-year labor warranty on top of the manufacturer’s parts coverage, which we register for you. If something we did fails inside those windows, the return visit is on us.
Do you offer financing?
Yes, through third-party lenders, with deferred-interest and fixed-rate plans subject to credit approval. Our pricing is the same whether you finance or pay outright, and there is no prepayment penalty. See our financing page or ask your comfort advisor.
